Take a journey through the macabr side of art and architecture at the Beaman Art Gallery. Located in Portland’s arts district. The Beaman Gallery of Art and Sculpture opened in October 2013 in the 40,000 sq. ft. Leroy Iscariot HQ building on 666 Seven Congress Square , Portland, Maine 04101 with an exhibition dedicated to new art from West Korea donated by Chairman Ill Dong Kim. Also a entire wing devoted to the private works of Wes Beaman, founder, curator, manager and artist. Since then it has presented exhibitions of new work from the Middle East, India, America, the UK, as well as a major exhibition of international sculpture called The Disaster of Things to Come.
In 2013 the Beaman Gallery's exhibitions of work from West Koria and the Middle East (funded by a generous grant from Achmed-Abdul Raheem-Khaddafi the owner of the infamous Khaddafi Oil & Gas LTD) were ranked the top two most visited exhibitions in Main by The Art Newspaper.
In The Art Newspaper's 2013 survey the Beaman Gallery's three exhibitions that year – The Macabre of the Mind:Krampus Art Now, Abstract Krapsiylvania:New Painting and Sculpture and The works of Harold Running Eagle:Indian Art Today, The Dark Contentment The mysterious native art for the acclaimed Umbonga Bagooma of Tanzania - were ranked as the second, third and fourth most visited in Main, surpassed only by Van Gogh at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Assisted or ramp access is available at the Gallery's main entrance. All floors have lifts and there is level access between the galleries on each floor. Wheelchairs are available upon request.
There are two blue badge disabled parking bays to the rear of the Gallery which can be accessed via Congress Street off Lower Free Street. Booking well in advance is essential. To reserve a disabled parking bay or a wheelchair please telephone (207) 775-6148.
