I have been actively collecting arcade games since 2006. The first game I purchased was a Donkey Kong cocktail. We now have around 50 games in our collection. Come on over and play! I have been actively collecting arcade games since 2006. My first arcade game was a Donkey Kong cocktail table that I got in 1998. I never really thought about getting more of them due to the cost, until 2006 when one day I typed "arcade" in the Minneapolis Craigslist. Since then I have managed to go through somewhere around 80 games and narrowed my collection to the 40 that I am going to keep (I think). I don't buy and sell arcade games for money, it is just a love or hobby. I do although sell or trade them from time to time because sometimes you buy something and dont care for it, or you buy 3 games to get the one you want and decide to sell the other 2 games. I have been involved with bulk buys up to 50 games at once and I have passed up many other games and bulk buys due to the size and space required to keep them. I am still looking forward to going on my first, what they call "Warehouse Raid". It has been a great challenge but a lot of fun learning to work on the games and get them running again. I always tell people that I have learned by electrocuting myself.
I started out with my first pinball machine; a Gottlieb Spin Out. It was a gift from my relatives (Alli & Chris Kaiser), that no longer wanted the machine. During this time of collecting arcade games I always ignored pinball machines; they never caught my interest. It is really unfortunate because I passed up a lot of nice machines. I really started to like pinball machines when a friend of mine told me he was going to sell his Data East Star Wars. My wife and I love Star Wars and wanted to get a Star Wars pinball machine to have at our wedding that would have as well, 3 arcade games including a stand up Star Wars for everyone to play. My wife and her family absolutely love Star Wars movies and everything about Star Wars. It only made sense to buy it and put it at the wedding. I was also luck that my good friend (John Fulliam) drove and delivered the machine 8 hours to our wedding. Our wedding was a HIT! Everyone loved the games. Big kids (adults) and little kids. There were lines to play the machines! I have had so much fun having this Star Wars pinball machine that it has got me going on adding a few more to sit next to it in our home.
