Thank you for your interest in the Ordnance Training & Heritage Center located at Fort Lee, Virginia. Formerly the Ordnance Museum at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland, the Ordnance Training & Heritage Center curates thousands of military artifacts from the War for Independence to modern day. The artifact collection is now being used to educate Ordnance Soldiers on their proud history and heritage. After the Defense Base Closure and Realignment (BRAC) move from Maryland, the museum collection of tanks, vehicles, and other artifacts is no longer available for public viewing. Currently, there are no existing plans to put the collection on public display. Also, some of the artifacts that were on outdoor exhibit at APG have been transferred to more appropriate locations: the Tiger 1 which is now on display at the Armor Museum at Fort Benning, Georgia for example. However, a few of the items that made the journey to Fort Lee can be seen by the public. These include: a Pershing II Battlefield Support Missile and Launcher; an M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, an M32B3 Recovery Vehicle, an experimental T12 High Explosive Bomb dubbed the “Cloudmaker,” an Army 12”/35 railroad gun “Model of 1895,” and one of the crown jewels of the Army collection, the Krupp 28cm Kanone 5, known as “Anzio Annie.” Below is a list of locations for these exhibits. Artifacts from the Ordnance collection are posted here regularly so be sure to check back often. Please like, share, and comment on what you find interesting! Again, thank you for your interest in the Ordnance Training & Heritage Center. Go Ordnance!
