"The PokeTaxi" will be a taxi service I hope to develop, allowing Pokemon Go users to experience a safe ride while catching Pokemon in the Stillwater area. Hello! My name is Cooper Hassell. I am currently a 19-year-old Junior at Oklahoma State University. I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. I love the game, "Pokemon Go," but I notice two major flaws in it: Kids that are too young to venture off by themselves are at a severe disadvantage when it comes to catching Pokemon, and people are dangerously trying to drive and play Pokemon Go at the same time. With my transportation service, "The PokeTaxi," I hope to not only allow children to explore the city and catch Pokemon, but also to make catching Pokemon safer for everybody.
Some of the things that I will be doing with anyone that chooses to use my service include:
-Safely driving the passenger(s) in my 2009 Honda Civic wherever they ask, as long as it stays inside of Stillwater and we can get there safely and legally
-Pulling over and walking with the passenger(s) wherever they think they might find a Pokemon, as long as it stays inside of Stillwater and we can get there safely and legally
-Teaching passenger(s) with little knowledge of Pokemon Go some of the basics of the game
-Doing whatever I can to make sure the
passenger(s) have as great of an experience as I can provide them.
For these services, I ask for $10 per hour per person at the beginning of every hour spent in the PokeTaxi. While I can only accept cash at the moment, I will work on getting a credit card machine if the PokeTaxi service is successful in the near future. Since most babysitters charge $10/hour to sit around at home, why not let your child go out and catch Pokemon? While my service focuses mostly on children who are unable to catch Pokemon on their own, I will also be available to anybody who asks for me.
I understand that while some parents might think this service is a good idea, they might also be hesitant to let a stranger drive their child around town. For anyone with safety concerns, I would like to offer the following services:
-Allowing up to two additional adults to ride along with a child on their first ride for free
-A first aid kit located in my car at all times
-Updates on the location of the PokeTaxi sent every half-hour to any parent of a child riding in the PokeTaxi that asks for them
-The knowledge that I will NEVER be on my phone while ANYONE is riding in the PokeTaxi. If for any reason I ever needed to be on my phone, I would make sure to safely pull over first.
-Doing anything else that any user may ask to assure the safety of them or their loved ones.
I am available for anyone that wants to use these services any Monday - Friday from 12:15 pm - 6:15 pm from now until August 14. After August 14, my schedule might change, but will only become more flexible, since I will be officially living in Stillwater at this time.
