Word of Truth Academy is a ministry of the Church of God 7th Day - Triple Tree. A Ministry of the Church of God 7th Day - Triple Tree. Word of Truth Academy is a private Christian School, established and attended, but not limited to members of the Church of God (Seventh Day). We are a Christian school that exists to aid Christian families. As a support and extension of the family unit, Word of Truth Academy considers family to be of utmost importance to a child. God, through His word, indicates the first responsibility of training a child belongs to the parents. Therefore, if parents and visitors (who have passed our background check) wish to volunteer they may do so by setting up a time in advance with the principal and teacher.
Teachers at Word of Truth Academy will be supported by and under
the authority of the School Board and the School Board will be under the
authority of the Church Board.
Attendance requirements
Word of Truth Academy is open 3 days per week:Monday through Wednesday. We expect that the children will complete assignments given for the remaining 2 days of school at home.
School Schedule
September 2, 2013 – May 21, 2014 9:00am-3:30pm daily
Daily schedule:Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Doors open at 8:30 am
School begins promptly at 9:00 am
Parents are welcome to attend assembly on Wednesdays from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. Field trips will be scheduled about six times per year. Parents are encouraged to attend.
Holidays
As a Christian School, we do not celebrate any holiday inconsistent with the Bible. This does not mean we pretend they do not exist, but we will not have parties or celebrations. We do not observe Halloween, Christmas (Santa Claus), or Easter (Easter Bunny).
Biblically-Based Curriculum
Word of Truth Academy strives to teach through biblically based curriculum. Biblical principles, assumptions and truths are taught throughout all subjects. Creation is taught as truth and fact. As well as using a bible based academic curriculum, our daily conversations and attitudes will reflect Christ. Biblical morals and values are taught and students are expected to behave in a manner consistent with these values. If good things are put into a child good things will come out. God’s word is the best thing we can give your child and we believe it will cause a heart to desire the things of God.
We believe building relationships and the ability to solve problems that arise in relationships is just as important as academics. We will focus daily on the importance of building and maintaining a relationship with the Lord above all, as well as relationships with others. A big part of being successful and becoming a productive member of society is our ability to get along with others and with those in authority. Therefore, we do spend time throughout the day talking about how the Bible instructs us to treat each other as well as those in authority over us.
Our day starts with Chapel, which will consist of prayer, memory verse, singing and Bible study. Students will need to bring a King James Version Bible as our guide for this time.
There will be various field trips throughout the year. Students are required to follow all rules and conduct themselves as mature young men and women.
Discipline Policy
Our policy for behavior is taken from the bible. Luke 6:31(KJV) And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.We will always praise and encourage desired behavior, stressing the child's maturity and ability to make good decisions. We will find appropriate ways of dealing with problems and difficulties with others.
Dress code
Our dress code exists, not because we believe it is the only appropriate way to dress, but to maintain an academic atmosphere. It is important that we ensure modesty, maintain unity, have order, and that respect is given to all others. It allows teachers to concentrate on teaching rather than acting as judge as to what words and pictures are and are not appropriate.
